Food, bowling and the Knights: Charlotte Hornets players on what they like to do in Charlotte
The Charlotte Hornets season tips off Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Miami.

Some interviews didn’t make the video since the microphone decided to come loose, which ruined the audio (D’oh!), but here are some notes from those interviews:
– Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who will miss at least six months this season after shoulder surgery, describes himself as a “homebody” who prefers to stay in with family. When he does go out, he enjoys going bowling and playing paintball.
“I wish there was a little more fresh seafood, but I understand it’s not like being in Seattle,” he said. “But there’s definitely other stuff that makes up for it.”
– Cody Zeller is a big Cowfish and Maggiano’s fan. He also enjoys going to Charlotte Knights and Carolina Panthers games during the offseason.
“I love Charlotte,” he said.
– Newcomer Nic Batum said he heard a lot of good things about Charlotte years ago from fellow Frenchman Boris Diaw, who played for the Bobcats from 2008-2012.
“This is a great area to live,” Batum said. “I’m happy to be here.”
