That familiar face you may have seen in recent Google Fiber ads is Charlotte gamer Morgan Nixon.

As Google Fiber buries increasingly more cable in Charlotte, it is working hard to attract new customers. A recent ad campaign by the internet provider features gamers from across the country, including one from the Queen City.

Keep your eyes peeled for Morgan Nixon — known online as bettynixx — who is featured in an ad alongside her dog, Sasha. Morgan is a pricing analyst by day who spends her free time skating around north Charlotte and streaming gameplay online. CharlotteFive caught up with the Charlotte gamer for a few questions.

How did you get into gaming?

I got into gaming as a child. The earliest console that I can remember having is a Gameboy. More recently as an adult, I began streaming honestly on a whim. I already loved playing my Playstation 4 and thought I would give livestreaming my gameplay a shot.

How do you connect with your followers while you’re gaming/streaming?

While streaming, I typically use current events or mental health checks to connect with my viewers/followers. I have a Discord server for my following/community where we chat throughout the day, hold movie nights and/or game together.

What is your all-time favorite video game?

My all-time favorite game is the Monster Hunter series. I have put thousands of hours into the franchise.

How did you come up with the name bettynixx?

My screen name was my first gamertag lol. I have a love for the character Betty Boop. Nixx comes from my last name. I put those two together to create bettynixx. Pretty simple, lol.

Anything else you’d like us to know?

Along with gaming, my content includes beauty and some of my skating progress. I hope to capture different audiences by doing the things that I love and sharing them.
