Charlottean to appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show — here’s how to watch
Tony Award winning theater educator Corey Mitchell of Charlotte will appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday, May 17, talking about his life’s work, along with the nonprofit college prep program he founded, Theatre Gap Initiative.
Mitchell, who spent 20 of his 25 years in teaching as a theater arts educator at Northwest School of the Arts in Charlotte, wasn’t alone. He also brought along Tommie Wofford, a Theatre Gap Initiative student, to the Los Angeles interview.
“It was amazing to walk out onto the set and then suddenly I’m just sitting on a couch and chatting with KELLY CLARKSON! She was just as kind and personable when the cameras were off and she was when they were rolling,” Mitchell said via email to CharlotteFive. “I am extremely grateful to have had such an incredible opportunity to amplify the mission of Theatre Gap Initiative to a national audience and to feel so well taken care of in the process.”
Here’s how to watch: Tune in to The Kelly Clarkson Show on NBC on Wednesday. In Charlotte, the show airs on affiliate WCCB — the CW— at 5 p.m.
