Are Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds actually buying a home in Charlotte? What we know
In the midst of a busy blockbuster movie season for Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, speculation has circulated that the couple is planning to make a move to Charlotte.
Last month, @CelebsInCLT posted on X that there’s been chatter about the pair renting or buying a house in the Eastover area.
In the weeks after that post, the chatter became loud enough that “Blake lively charlotte nc” was even trending nationally on Google on Thursday and Friday mornings.
But is it true?
At least @CelebsInCLT seems to think so.
“I got all kinds of scoop and details now! Just want to confirm it’s 100% accurate and true. And I don’t want to post the home address, kids school, etc.,” the account posted on X late Thursday evening. Earlier, @CelebsInCLT posted about Lively being spotted at Reid’s in SouthPark.

Why would Lively and Reynolds move to Charlotte?
Following the highly anticipated premieres of their movies, “Deadpool and Wolverine” and “It Ends With Us,” some are skeptical that this would be an ideal time to head down South.
But in the midst of speculated behind-the-scenes drama among Lively’s new film based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, some, including Perez Hilton, say the timing could be very telling.
“If they were just planning on moving their kids away from Hollywood, sure, no big deal, it’s a nice idea,” the celebrity blogger wrote in a recent piece.
“The issue here is the timing. At the exact moment Blake is facing the most backlash she ever has in her life, she’s running away from El Lay?? It kiiinda feels that way…As more comes out about the It Ends With Us drama, Blake AND Ryan have been accused of using their power to bully director Justin Baldoni. Those on his side even think the couple are behind a smear campaign to make him seem like some kind of abuser himself who deserved to have his movie taken from him.”
Does the celebrity couple own property in Mecklenburg County?
We searched a database of more than 430,000 properties in Mecklenburg County. No records showed that the couple owned or recently bought a home in Eastover or anywhere else in the county.
But according to U.S. News, celebrities often buy homes under a Limited Liability Company (LLC) or a trust.
This helps shield their names from public records tied to the properties.
Other real estate belonging to Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds
Multiple outlets have reported that the power couple’s primary residence is a $5.7 million estate in New York’s posh Westchester County. TheRichest has described the 11-acre Pound Ridge estate as having seven bedrooms, six bathrooms and Old Colonial charm, along with a barn stocked with farm animals.
In New York City, the Hollywood A-listers also own a TriBeCa apartment sometimes seen in their Instagram photos and stories. The Greenwich Street building is known to have valet parking, a secret courtyard garden and a 75-foot lap pool, Elle Decor reported. House Beautiful shared that other stars owning units in the building have at one time included Jennifer Lawrence, Meg Ryan, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Despite a net worth that multiple outlets have reported reaching $380 million, Lively and Reynolds aren’t known to own any other properties.
