As “Love Is Blind” Season 7 is hitting screens, Charlotte’s season of the Netflix reality TV dating show has once again come back into the spotlight.
Sarah Ann Bick confirmed “the end of [her] relationship” with Jeramey Lutinski in an Instagram story post, US Weekly and E News reported, among other outlets.
But that wasn’t the end of the attention.
Sarah Ann posted another video statement, saying she was surprised to get so much media scrutiny from her announcement and that she had assumed most people already knew the couple had separated. Yet fans had continued to send her screenshots of Jeramey’s dating profile and other snippets, prompting her to make an official statement so she could move forward into “the next chapter of my life.”
Sarah Ann followed up the second post with an Instagram reel a few days later that answered fans’ questions and explained how the media spotlight and viewers’ hate toward their relationship pressured the couple after Season 6 aired. The Netflix reality show puts couples into pods that separate them with a wall on dates, leaving them to create connections and get engaged to move toward marriage without ever seeing each other.
When “Love is Blind’s” Charlotte-filmed season dropped, what fans saw was Jeramey and Laura Dadisman becoming one of the five couples to get engaged, despite his feelings for Sarah Ann in the pods. But the two called off the engagement once Laura found out Jeramey was secretly hanging out with Sarah Ann after a late night at Lost & Found.
Chatter about infidelity during filming involving multiple men on the show — including Jeramey — further fanned the flames.
Although Sarah Ann and Jeramey were together for about a “year and some change,” resentment and feelings that they weren’t supporting each other built up as fans lashed out after the show aired, she said in the videos.
“We both contributed to the issues in our relationship. We go about things so differently,” Sarah Ann said in the second video.
Answering a question about whether the breakup was “amicable,” she said, “No, it wasn’t. If you want me to be blatantly honest, it was ugly. It ended really ugly.”
“Both of us fought really really hard for our relationship. We both wanted it to work,” she added.
Jeramey acknowledged the attention in his own video, saying, “I was just as surprised as everyone else to see some things popping up.”
“She moved out five months ago. It’s definitely been some time,” he said, noting repeatedly that he didn’t want to talk badly about Sarah Ann.
“Why are we still talking about this? I don’t know,” he said, inviting questions from his own fan base.
