Love is in the air and onscreen with another new season of “Love is Blind” on Netflix.

While many are moving on to the new pod squad from Minneapolis, This Valentine’s Day also marks the anniversary of the Charlotte season of the hit reality show.

From the blindsiding breakups to the off-screen drama on social media, it was one of the most popular seasons — and arguably one of the most dramatic.

It all started out with 30 men and women dating behind closed doors, but (spoiler alert) only Amy Cortés and Johnny McIntyre walked away happily married.

But where are the stars now one year later? CharlotteFive caught up with some of the contestants from Season 6 to chat about their careers, dating lives and more after filming.

(Note: The conversations have been edited for clarity and brevity.)

Clay Gravesande

Living in: Charlotte working in tech sales and running his jet ski and boat rental business, WaveSandy Water Rentals.

Relationship status: Single and not actively looking for a relationship — but “always in the market for love.”

How do you feel looking back at the show? “Definitely was a humbling experience for me. My life pretty much changed just because I would say me doing some of the things that I did before I did the show, I’m not able to do as much. … Based off mental health and anxiety, I think I learned a lot. I was able to pick up therapy and stuff like that so I’m able to now pretty much watch the show, be able to give an opinion.”

“A lot of the guys or women that get a bad edit, they reach out to me for advice because they like the way how I bounce back from everything so I’m kind of been taking it as [an] approach of helping out people … and I’m kind of making a platform where I’m giving them the opportunity to to speak, as well as connecting them with different people that could help them out with their mental health journey.”

“Because although ‘Love is Blind’ is entertaining, these are real people that are going through this stuff, and although people look at us like characters, a lot of people are regular people and kind of get thrust into the limelight. It can be pretty stressful.”

[CHARLOTTE FAMOUS: They’ve found fame on social media by focusing on Charlotte. What are their secrets?]

Knowing what you know now, would you have still gone on the show or do you have any regrets?

“I don’t have regrets for anything. I think everything happens for a reason. I take risks in everything I do in life, and you know it’s just a risk of going out on a limb and trying to find love in an unorthodox way. But I think it’s a testimony of how I live my life of not living in fear, so I have no regret.”

What are your overall thoughts now on what happened with your relationship on the show?

“I thought it was a great relationship for five weeks. I thought we gave it the best shot. It’s difficult dating when the whole public is kind of judging your relationship. I’m really happy how A.D. was able to handle everything after the altar. I do think that it was rough watching it back, watching me say ‘no’ at the altar, but I still feel comfortable with the decision that I made.

“We’ve learned a lot, and my overall thing is, I’m happy for A.D. and everything she has going on and I’m a huge supporter.”

Would you ever go on another reality TV show again? If so, which one?

“I probably won’t go on Netflix again, but I would do another reality TV show if it had nothing to do with dating … I could do something like a challenge, you know something athletic. What is it — ‘American Nina [Warrior]’ — some competition, go be on ‘Survivor’ or something like that.”

Chelsea Blackwell

Living in: South Carolina, not too far from Charlotte, as a flight attendant, planning weddings and embracing the content creator world.

Relationship status: “In the healthiest, happiest most loving relationship I’ve ever been in.”

How do you feel looking back at the show? “So beyond grateful for the experience I had. Truly created the way my life looks today. I’ve come really far and am so proud of myself.”

Knowing what you know now, would you have still gone on the show or do you have any regrets? “I truly believe everything happens for a reason. My journey was real and raw and I’ll always be proud of myself for speaking up. Maybe with less tears.”

What are your overall thoughts now on what happened with your relationship on the show? “Looking back, I believe if the woman I am today was in those circumstances, the show would have been a lot different. I’ve learned the hard way to have more respect for myself, and it really made me reflect on the partner I wanted.”

Would you ever go on another reality TV show again? If so, which one? “Absolutely. I loved the environment and showcasing my true heart. I’d definitely be open again. Obviously not a dating one! But I am loving “Traitors” at the moment, so maybe something strategic.”

Laura Dadisman

Living in: Charlotte and spending a lot of time in Atlanta working on a sales team for a telecommunications company.

Relationship status: “Single as the day is long” but having a ton of fun dating.

How do you feel looking back at the show? “I was able to watch Season 8 that’s coming up. And it’s funny, because I hadn’t watched — I didn’t sit down and just watch my whole season … This is going to sound crazy. It actually made me miss the whole experience of my season, if you could even imagine that. I really enjoyed being in the pods … Now that I’m, you know, far enough out from it, I think back fondly of it to put it simply.”

Knowing what you know now, would you have still gone on the show or do you have any regrets?

“Yeah, absolutely. I would still go back on the show. I would do it again. If I could have a real sit down with the casting crew for the show about the men that they pick and ages and the maturity and the background checks, I would do it again in a heartbeat.”

What are your overall thoughts now on what happened with your relationship on the show?

“I would say I pretty much feel the same I do about it now as I did then. I believe people on who they are the first time they show me who they are. So you know, they’re (Sarah Ann and Jeramey) just not for me. We’ve never communicated. Jeremy actually slid my DMs, like, probably two months ago, and I never responded, and I have never responded to any of the times that he’s reached out ever since the lake day — which was, I guess, like a year and a half ago. But it seemed like he was reaching out a couple months ago to apologize.”

“I think everybody can grow and learn and evolve, and they’re just not my type of people, so I don’t keep in touch with either of them.”

Would you ever go on another reality TV show again? If so, which one?

“I cannot express to you enough how many times I’ve said this. I want ‘Love Island’ to do a 30-something — like their all-star seasons is a lot of like later 20s, like 30-year-olds — but I want them to do a season where it’s just 30-something guys and girls. And I would be there in a heartbeat, honey.”

Jeramey Lutinski

Living in: Charlotte working in sales management for a construction company.

Relationship status: “In a really good, healthy, happy relationship.”

How do you feel looking back at the show? “When I look back at that time, I see a very confused version of myself when I watch that back. I was overly agreeable in a lot of ways when I watch that show back. There were a lot of things that were going through my mind at any given point throughout that process that I either didn’t speak up about or that I just didn’t really wanna get into a conflict or anything like that so I just kind of shut down instead of saying what I wanted to say… I watch that back and I even go like ‘Who was that person?’”

Knowing what you know now, would you have still gone on the show or do you have any regrets? “I don’t know if I have regrets about going on the show. I definitely would have not jumped into it as eagerly as I did because there were a lot of things I needed to fix within myself before I went and did something like that.”

What are your overall thoughts now on what happened with your relationship on the show? “First and foremost, there was things I needed to fix with myself before I reflect on anything with them so that that’s kind of my own issue, but also a lot of things were very overblown on that show that had happened between the three of us (Jeramey, Sarah Ann and Laura), and it was just amplified the more it got into the public. It’s just the nature of TV. Like just they found all of the worst parts that they can find and just threw it out there for the world to go crazy with.”

“Overall — and this is looking back in retrospect and I’m in a happy relationship and I’ve actually been able to have the same conversation with my girlfriend now and she understands it — but I didn’t make the right decisions in the pods. I was trying to stay outside of my comfort zone in an already uncomfortable situation and I should have gone with Sarah to begin with, and I think things would’ve turned out a lot differently. Not to say that she and I would still be together now, but that reservation that I had from the very beginning, we wouldn’t have faced all the problems we faced, you know, because it just wouldn’t have been a thing.”

Would you ever go on another reality TV show again? If so, which one?

“Yeah, I would do another reality show. [Netflix] had actually asked me to do ‘Perfect Match.’ I had turned that down. I was asked to another show — they didn’t have a name for it yet, and I turned that one down, but they have asked me to do outdoorsy, ‘Survivor’-style shows and I would 100% do that, but no more dating shows.”

Sarah Ann Bick

Living in: Charlotte working for a financial technology company.

Relationship status: “Dating and hoping to still find my person.”

How do you feel looking back at the show? “It’s really bittersweet, especially with where I’m at now. There’s just been so much growth that’s happened in my personal life and some mostly for the better. Looking back, I’ve become a little bit guarded just in when people approach me, but overall, I’ve grown a lot as a person and I wouldn’t change it for the world. It’s bittersweet. It was such a cool journey for me regardless of all of the hate. I am just so glad that I decided to do it because it’s made me into the person that I am today.”

Knowing what you know now, would you have still gone on the show or do you have any regrets? “I think I still would’ve done it. I don’t really have many regrets in life in general, just because I truly believe that whatever happens to us in our lives — good or bad — it’s truly helping us become who we’re actually supposed to be and it’s how we reach our full potential in life so I don’t really have any regrets.”

“Looking back. I think things could’ve been handled much differently, but hindsight is 20-20 and reality television is reality television. You’re gonna see a lot of things that happened but are edited a certain way so, honestly, I have no regrets. I’m happy that I went and you know did the reality (television) thing.”

What are your overall thoughts now on what happened with your relationship on the show?

“Honestly, I wish Laura all the best. When I originally met her, we chatted and I got to know her and I hope that she’s living and doing well — and I hope the same for Jeramey. I think he has since moved on and found a new relationship, but looking back on that — obviously I stand by this — I don’t wanna hurt people. That’s never the intention. I just had to do what was best for myself in life and in love and so I wish I had gone about things quite differently.”

“At the end of the day, I do still feel like if I could talk to Laura now and just have a conversation, I think it would be a lot different. But as far as Jeramey and I go, he’s a good person. We figured out pretty quickly that we handle situations very differently, especially when under tremendous amounts of stress, so, again, I just wish him all the best. I wish everybody all the best. But as far as Jeramey goes, I’m happy to be single again and I’m happy to be looking for the person that I can spend my life with because at the end of the day Jeramey and I are just very different people.”

Would you ever go on another reality TV show again? If so, which one?

“I probably would, depending on the premise of the show. I would assume it would probably be more dating-related, which I would be fine with because, again, still searching for my person. I could probably see myself on a game show— I think ‘The Mole’ is one of them … Honestly, you know what I really would love to do? I would love to be like ‘The Bachelorette’ or be on ‘The Bachelor,’ which is a completely different production company. But I think that that would be the coolest.”

“But then I could also see myself working with Kinetic Content again and Netflix, so it’s a possibility.”
