Charlotte airport pianist makes it to Top 24 on ‘American Idol.’ How to vote.
A local singer and musician is still on his way to taking the title of the newest winner of “American Idol.”
The competition is heating up as aspiring performers from across the country continue to take the stage in the hit reality show, including 24-year-old Josh King, a volunteer performer at local hospitals and Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Spoiler alert: After making it through the biggest cut of the season during Idol Arena, the Showstoppers Round and a Head-to-Head performance, he wowed the judges enough to make it to the Top 24.
“I have met so many amazing friends and artists on this journey and I can’t believe it’s not over yet,” King said in an Instagram post.

How to vote in ‘American Idol’
This weekend marks the beginning of nationwide voting, in which fans can vote for their favorite competitors each week to ultimately take the title of the next American Idol.
With back-to-back episodes on Sunday, April 13 and Monday, April 14, voting begins at the beginning at approximately 8 p.m. and locks at 6 a.m. both days.
Votes can be submitted at AmericanIdol.com/vote, in the American Idol app or by texting the contestant’s number you would like to vote for to “21523.” You must be at least 16 years old and located in the U.S., Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands to vote online.
Fans are allowed to submit up to 10 votes for each remaining contestant per voting method.

You can tune in to watch King this season when new episodes of “American Idol” are released every Sunday and Monday on ABC at 8 p.m. and the next day on Hulu.
