26.2 miles later: 145 Charlotteans finish Boston Marathon

It was a little wet, a little windy and a little cold, but these are marathoners, and this was Boston, and there was a famous road race to run Monday.

More than 30,000 runners – including nearly 150 from the Charlotte area – toed the line for the 119th Boston Marathon, which covers 26.2 miles and spans eight towns and cities on its way from Hopkinton, Mass., to the state capital.

Here are some other race-related numbers that simply wouldn’t fit into the previous sentence.

41 degrees: Temperature in Hopkinton at the start.

100 percent: Chance of rain in the forecast before the race.

30,251: Total runners entered.

145: Charlotte-area finishers.

0: Miles the average finisher will run on Tuesday.
