Make date night happen at Salud! Cooking School

Say goodbye to those exhausting conversations about where to go for date night. Salud! Cooking School at Whole Foods has you covered.

With fun hands-on cooking classes for you and your significant other — whether it is your spouse, partner, girlfriend/boyfriend or Tinder/Hinge/Grouper/OKCupid date — it’s an easy call.

Benefits

-Your reservation time is your actual reservation time, not 45 minutes later.

-The food does the seduction for you.

-Conversation includes more than “House of Cards” and “Game of Thrones.”

Earlier this month, I went to Salud’s Date Night: School of Seduction.

The details

-Time: 6-9 p.m.

-Price: $120 per couple

-Menu: Fried oysters; sweetheart salad with champagne vinaigrette; asparagus with chili basil butter; spicy steak with port cherry sauce; and chocolate-dipped fruit.

-Description: “The art of seduction has always included delicious foods. We’ll make some sensuous and tempting dishes filled with aphrodisiacs that will surely light your fire.”

The participants

-There were six couples, the ideal size for a mix of intimacy and conversation starters, with an age range around 26-40.

-Two-thirds of the group said they didn’t cook regularly at home. Cooking is way more fun when there’s no prep work or dirty dishes to be done.

-Everyone said they wanted “something different and fun.”

The vibe

-Small talk quickly turned into real talk. A hilarious inappropriate  joke followed soon after.

-Chef Michael provided the expertise, an awesome playlist and an up-beat personality.

-Laughter and seduction filled the air as participants cooked by dividing and conquering tasks.

-Breaks for wine and beer (which must be kept at the seats) encouraged camaraderie at its finest.

Along with Date Night, other class options include:

-Sushi Making

-Pasta Making

-Knife Skills

-Single Mingle

While Salud! classes have been available since Whole Foods opened in August 2012, they are becoming increasingly popular, even frequently selling out. They say it is due to word of mouth. Aphrodisiacs can’t hurt.
