See art everywhere, touch these paper notes and 8 other ways to activate your senses this week

Experience Charlotte to its fullest with these C5 Senses: 10 things to see, taste, touch, hear and smell this week.

See

– Art — everywhere. You have one more day to post a photo to Instagram that you think best captures Charlotte’s art scene. Use the hashtag #ArtForAllCLT for a chance to win a painting, Summer Pops tickets and more. To be eligible, also follow @sharecharlotte and @mycameraclt on Instagram. The contest closes Friday and winners are announced June 23.

– The bright orange signs sprouting up around town as the 16th annual 24 Hours of Booty event approaches. Hosted by the 24 Foundation, the 24-hour fundraising event to support cancer-fighting organizations including the LIVESTRONG Foundation and the Levine Cancer Institute is 7 p.m. July 28 until 7 p.m. July 29 around the Myers Park “Booty Loop.” There will be more than 1,200 cyclists and 200 walkers on the brand-new walking route. Register or donate.

Taste

– Something from the sandwich list at ROOTS café: Pastrami, turkey, veggie — there’s variety. ROOTS just officially opened Wednesday in South End, so head on in. 2135 South End Dr., Suite 109.

Its getting to that time of day when you’re thinking about lunch. And we want you to be head-over-heels EXCITED for it. That’s what we’re here for; to get you excited again about breakfast, lunch, dinner, meals in between, meals on the go, beer and wine after work, you name it. We’re here. And we’re officially open TODAY. 7am until 9pm.

– A free mochaccino (or latte, or hot chocolate…) at Sam’s Xpress Car Wash. You might as well jazz up the mundane – this Matthews-headquartered business is advertising some deals for dads and grads at the moment, too. Buy 2 Top Washes Get 2 Free. 4603 South Blvd. and other locations.

Touch

– The dry paper Post-Its and a pencil in Levine Museum of the New South’s exhibition “K(NO)W Justice K(NO)W Peace.” The community-created exhibit addresses police-involved shootings in Charlotte and around America and invites viewers to reflect and answer the question: What does your Charlotte look like? On view until Oct. 22, 2017. 200 E. 7th St.

– The cool, glossy arm of the Buddy Bear statue standing with his arms outstretched outside the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library uptown. Hear

– The quiet chatter of the lunchtime crowd at Fran’s Filling Station. The patio overlooking Park Road is the tucked-away place to be. And the deviled eggs are a must for starters. 2410 Park Road.

– The soft rustle of spices as you examine the international options on the shelves at Yafa Market & Café. Explore the middle-eastern flavors. 10703 Park Road, Pineville.

Smell

– The antiseptic scent of nail polish remover as you dip your feet into hot wax during a pedicure at Ballantyne Nail Spa. Stop clenching your calves. Relax. Remember – dudes do this pampering thing, too2935 Providence Road, Ste 102 and 14815 Ballantyne Village Way, #280.

– The earthy sweetness of grass as you sit down in the middle of Midtown Park. Close your eyes. Forget what’s next for a moment. I dare you. 805 S Kings Dr.
