Get tickets to the collaboration dinner featuring chefs from Heirloom, Heritage, Fahrenheit and more
Chef collaboration dinners are all the rage, and the masterminds behind culinary video series Order/Fire are whipping up their very own here in Charlotte.
Order Together, a venture created by producers Peter Taylor, Joel Tracey and chef Marc Jacksina, is a collaborative multi-course feast crafted by some of the Queen City’s most luminary food and drink connoisseurs. This extravaganza will be the largest event ever planned by the web series squad, whipping up one night you won’t want to miss.
This impressive occasion is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Oct. 16 at Heirloom Restaurant. Tickets are $125 per person and include a welcome cocktail, beer pairings, and “seven courses of wide open awesomeness,” Jacksina says. Tickets are limited and are available here.
Order Together will feature the work of:
Jamie Lynch, 5Church/Sophia’s Lounge
Greg Auten, Pinky’s Westside Grill
Clark Barlowe, Heirloom Restaurant
Jamie Swofford, The Chef’s Farmer
Greg Collier, The Yolk Cafe
Paul Verica, Heritage Restaurant
Alyssa Wilen, Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen
Chris Coleman, Stoke Charlotte
Luca Annunziata, Luca Modern Italian Kitchen
Matthew Krenz, The Asbury
Rocco Whalen, Fahrenheit
Blake Hartwick, Bonterra Dining & Wine Room
Ashley Boyd, 300 East and Heritage Food & Drink
Miranda Brown, 300 East
Bob Peters, The Punch Room
Jason and Jeff Alexander, Free Range Brewing
With a line-up this stacked, you could only imagine how hard it was to designate who goes where. Chefs will be paired together, creating a menu unlike none other in the city. Here are some highlights among the seven courses:
The passed appetizer course will feature three heavy hitters including Greg Auten, Clark Barlowe and Jamie Lynch. Guests can look forward to trying Greg’s black trumpet mushroom deviled eggs and Clark’s special version of Ding Dong Chicken with house-made sriracha. Jamie is currently mastering the finishing touches on his dish and will announce his creation during the night of the event.
Paul Verica and Greg Collier are working together to create a dinner-meets-breakfast course that will be highlighting their unique approaches to vegetable presentation.
For another course, Rocco Whalen and Blake Hartwick are joining forces with a North-meets-South rib battle.
Jason and Jeff Alexander from Free Range Brewing are going to be there for it all, pairing some beerlicious booze with each and every round.
Dining guests will get a sense of each chefs’ unique personality and style. Tickets can be found here.
“It’s been amazing dealing with all of these chefs’ enthusiasm, as we’ve offered them the chance to cook without restraint and devoid of theme,” Jacksina said.
The proceeds from the event (including a silent auction, raffle and merchandise sales) will help raise funds for Season 3 of “Order/Fire.” This next project is venturing into the roots of Appalachian cuisine, exploring other regional cities including Wilmington, Edisto Island and road trips throughout many more.
“’Order/Fire’ offers a deeper view into the hearts and inner workings of the region’s talent in ways traditional food culture media cannot,” Taylor said. “By preserving stories to moving film, we feel that we can assist in promoting a burgeoning culinary scene like Charlotte, and along the way share the human ingredient, and capture a sense of time and place.”
