This post first ran in May 2017 and was updated July 2018.

If you didn’t Instagram your weekend fun, it never happened, right? Certain locations around town get so much Instagram love that they’ve become clichés on our social media feeds. I like it though. It shows our (mildly obsessive) love for the city.

And the 10 most cliché spots for Instagram photos in Charlotte are:

Fahrenheit

222 S. Caldwell St.

For glamour shots, couples holding cocktails, marriage proposals (I saw one happen here last week) and carefully planned yoga poses. Also, order the miso-glazed avocado with ciabatta bread while you’re here.

They tell me teamwork makes the dream work. @cltfive Art of Yoga class is 6pm tomorrow @levinecenterforthearts! Free. Temporary link in profile. #c5artofyoga #yoga #crowpose #bakasana #armbalance #clt

The Stella Artois mural in NoDa

35th and N. Davidson streets

It’s impossible to drive down North Davidson Street without seeing at least two people posing in front of one of the many murals in this arts district. The ever-popular Stella Artois mural was painted by Osiris Rain — and it’s actually titled “Art of the Chalice.” He got to work when he was approached by Stella Artois to be a part of a campaign to bring murals to multiple cities.

City Lights Rooftop

555 S. McDowell St.

For glass-clinking Boomerangs and dramatic shots of popsicles in Prosecco. This was also quite the popular spot for viewing the eclipse in 2017.

The Disco Chicken

420 S. Tryon St.

Technically known as The Firebird in front of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, this is an ideal backdrop for touristy “Holy wow I’m in Uptown Charlotte!” photos, cute group shots and self-reflection vibes. Crafted by the late artist Niki de Saint Phalle, The Firebird arrived at The Bechtler in 2009 in two segments that weighed 1,433 pounds total and were covered with about 7,500 mirrors.

Sycamore Brewing

2161 Hawkins St.

For photos of you drinking craft beer with your bestie. What once felt like a quiet little brewery in South End has exploded in popularity (and a crush of bodies), with young professionals flocking to the beer garden for yoga, post-work brews and food truck fare. Try a flagship beer here, like the Southern Girl Blonde Ale.

Saturday! Falconheart on the Beer Garden stage from 3pm! Gyro Twins Truck on-site for lunch & dinner. Sunday we open early for the WORLD CUP FINAL at 10:30 with TIN Kitchen serving from 11am!

Romare Bearden Park

300 S. Church St.

For sweeping, wonder-filled views of the skyline, engagements, family portraits and prom pics. The park name honors Romare Bearden, a Charlotte-born artist celebrated for his abstract paintings, influential collages and beyond.

The Magic Carpet Murals on the Charlotte Rail Trail

Various places on the Charlotte Rail Trail.

For funky fitness photos, puppy pics and business promos. The murals are also fun to walk or bike across. “We never get to walk on art,” artist Katey Truhn told CharlotteFive during the painting process. “The way people experience it is more intimate. It’s a surprise.”

Freedom Park

1900 East Blvd.

For contemplative sunrise shots, pictures of kids playing and serene water scenes. Don’t forget about the nearby “talking trees” along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway path, either.

That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run. So I ran to the end of the road. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd run to the end of the town. – Forrest Gump I legit don't know where I'm at or how to get back to my car lol
