You have less than one week to do a good deed with #summershareCLT
Everybody’s into giving around the holidays, but it turns out summer is a very high-need time for non-profits.

Enter SHARE Charlotte. Its summershareCLT project gives to some 49 local nonprofits during the warmer months.
I caught up with SHARE partner Kimberly Paulk:
How did the organization come up with #summershareCLT?
We work closely with a lot of local nonprofits. After our #GivingTuesdayCLT campaign in December 2014, we began hearing that one of their greatest times of needs is actually in the summer. We love the idea of year-round giving and finding easy ways for everyone to get involved in local philanthropy, so #summershareCLT was born.

What is the deadline and how can people contribute?
July 26 is the deadline, and anyone can “shop for good” by visiting summershareCLT.org. Find an organization you love and you’ll be able to shop and ship right from their Amazon Wish List.

What items are “most wanted?”
There’s a huge range of needs out there:
– Discovery Home Care needs toothpaste and deodorant.
– Lydia’s Legacy could use furry socks.
– Charlotte Bilingual Preschool would absolutely love an HP laptop.
There’s something for every cause you’re passionate about and every price point.
What if I can’t help this time?
Actually – (you can help) all the time! SHARE Charlotte will have a Give Shop available on our website after the campaign ends. Come back and visit the website when you’re ready and you’ll find ways to give (and to volunteer).
We’re all in this together, so we’re proud to be part of @shareCLT‘s giving campaign: http://t.co/5ccsjHJ4Ok 7/13-26 pic.twitter.com/HMhgCgk6o2
