5 Charlotte runners to follow on Twitter

Looking for a little running inspiration in your Twitter feed? We’ve got five local runners for you to follow with diverse backgrounds and training goals. Follow these runners and connect with our local running community. And we bet you’ll find yourself motivated to lace up your running shoes and hit the road!

1) Asheton Brown, @smasheton

This 26 year old runner lives by the motto “seek to inspire.” She regularly finishes at the top in her age group for races ranging from 5Ks to half marathons. In 2013 she placed 166th in the Nike Women’s Half Marathon in a field of over 20,000.

(2) Greg Shore, @TriTheShore

Greg is a competitive triathlete based in Charlotte. He represented the United States in the World Championships in London in 2013. In his spare time he enjoys working with youth as a triathlon coach. You can follow Greg’s race recaps on his blog.

(3) Meredith Dolhare, @MerDolhare

Meredith is the founder of local non-profit Running Works that serves the homeless community in Charlotte through running. She also serves as the head Cross Country Coach at Charlotte Country Day School. An accomplished endurance athlete, Meredith has completed countless and is a Badwater finisher. Meredith is the mother of two teenagers. How does she do it all? Follow her to find out.

Aaron is a Physician Assistant at OrthoCarolina. He’s an avid CrossFitter and is training for his first marathon and sharing the experience on Run Charlotte Run. Follow him on Twitter for daily updates!

(5) Jen Matz, @RunnersTrials

Jen Matz is the mother of a 2 year old and five month old. She’s currently seven weeks into training for the New York City Marathon, which will be her first postpartum marathon. Follow her daily updates on Twitter and her weekly recaps on her blog, This Runners Trials.
