Take a look inside the Sunday Night Football bus
The Sunday Night Football bus rolled into town this week ahead of the Carolina Panthers’ Sunday night home game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The bus isn’t just a way to get the crew from city to city — it’s a full-blown fan experience. There are a few chances for you to experience it this weekend.
Friday night, it will be at Mallard Creek High for the team’s game against A.L. Brown. Saturday it will travel up to Lexington for the town’s barbecue festival. And Sunday it will be uptown at Romare Bearden Park from 4-7:30 p.m.
Some quick facts:
– The bus will travel about 25,000 miles this season.
– Three people ride on the bus full time: two drivers, brothers Donte and Trey Hunter, and Richard Brooke — a name that should be familiar to longtime C5 readers — who creates content for the SNF social media accounts.
– The Sunday Night Football crew will be at 21 games this season, starting with the kickoff game, followed by 17 regular season games, one Thanksgiving game and two playoff games.
I got a chance to check out the bus yesterday afternoon. Here’s a quick photo tour:
One wall is covered with footballs, one for each game the crew will cover this season, and two signed by players named player of the game — one from last season and one from this one.
There’s a “locker” for each team. The one for the Panthers has Cam Newton’s jersey hanging in it.
And, of course, the selfie wall.
Here’s my favorite part: A replica of the “Football Night in America” set …
… where you can act like a big TV star — and get a GIF to remember the experience.
Crushed it.
