Queen City Jam Session, a multi-day music festival, has arrived in Charlotte
Charlotte, it’s time to get ready for a festival. MaxxMusic and NoDa Brewing Company will come together to bring the city a multi-day music festival Aug. 19-21.
“Our partnership with NoDa Brewing started several years ago,” MaxxMusic founder Gregg McCraw told CharlotteFive. “We know they share our love of music and the Charlotte music scene, so it was a perfect partnership. The name of one of their most popular brews is ‘Jam Session,’ which emphasizes the brewery’s connection to music. So, it was the obvious name for the festival.”
Queen City Jam Session tickets are available online.
The inaugural event — which has Greensky Bluegrass, Oteil and Friends, and Infamous Stringdusters set to perform — will be hosted at NoDa Brewing. The goal of the annual festival is to include local, regional and national acts. Rebirth Brass Band, Spafford, Victor Wooten will also hit the stage.
And, in true Charlotte fashion, concertgoers can expect food trucks to also be on the scene.
“This is the first year of the festival, but it won’t be the last,” Director of Strategic Development for NoDa Brewing Jacob Virgil said. “We want this to become a staple in the community and something that grows upon itself, an event people look forward to year after year.”
“As Charlotte grows beyond the reputation of a banking town, we are more and more becoming known as a hub for culture in the south east,” he said. “Having a large music festival like QC Jam Session in the heart of Charlotte will only further Charlotte’s draw.”
