Charlotte SHOUT! festival is back in uptown. What you need to know before you go
Starting this weekend, uptown streets will be transformed into an art lover’s paradise for one of the biggest music, art and food events of the year: Charlotte SHOUT!
The third annual family-friendly festival is back with two weeks of art installations, live music, food trucks, pop-up shops and more to check out this spring.
All the fun kicks off Friday, March 29, with several events every day until Sunday, April 14.
There are over 200 things to do and check out during the multi-week event. Here are some of the curated experiences by area or SHOUT! Zone:
Zone 1
Catch live music at Ally Main Stage in First Ward Park.
Attend community gatherings, catch a movie or bingo and more at Victoria Yards.
Ask for the “secret specialty SHOUT! menu item” at The Market at 7th Street.
Zone 2
Take a stroll down to check out the murals on Luminous Lane.
Go shopping at SHOUT! Pop-up Market.
See the work of local fashion designers at The Hub.
Zone 3
Sign up for a SHOUT! Chic workshop sessions with local fashion designers.
Make your own masterpiece at The Uptown Imaginarium.
Admire art at Nine Eighteen Nine Studio Gallery, TAC Gallery and the Symbiosis: Resilience and Renewal in Art collection.
Zone 4
Put your mini-golf skills to the test at The Queen’s Greens Putt Putt Course.
Check out the “AYA Goddess of Light” laser sculpture.
Have a “meditative moment,” chase bubbles or have a dance break at Cathedral of Revelry.
Zone 5
Walk through the Sonic Runway immersive light installation.
Get crafty and make your own creation at Upcycle Arts’ Make and Take.
Go see dancers, DJs, aerial artists and skaters at the Live Busker Shows.
Zone 6
See one of the daily performances by Charlotte Piano Teachers Forum.
Grab a ticket to one of the Society 229 - SHOUT! OUTS events.
Shop SHOUT! and treat yourself to a SHOUT!-themed menu item fromThe Charlotte Farmers Market, Middle C Jazz or Crane Coffee.
Zone 7
Help paint the VAPA Community Mural.
Explore for art and complete different challenges during the VAPA Art Scavenger Hunts.

Parking options and public transportation
With many of the events set in the heart of uptown, there are several parking options around the area if you’re planning on driving. You can find a list of parking garages and lots within the area online at www.parkme.com.
If you want to skip the traffic, you can also ride the light rail. Tickets can be bought at a Ticket Vending Machine at each station platform or online through the CATS-Pass mobile app.
