Things to do

A Concert for Carolina auction is underway. Here’s how you can participate

The Concert for Carolina raised $24.5 million, but the team that put together the Hurricane Helene relief benefit concert isn’t done yet. A silent auction with concert items, sports gear and more is carrying the cause onward.

Auction items up for bid include the signed guitar and shirt that Eric Combs used during the show and a meet-and-greet with Eric Church at an upcoming concert.

Other items on the auction block to raise funds include signed NFL, NBA, NCAA and NASCAR gear, signed instruments, a variety of concert and game tickets, a selection of artwork, Yeti coolers and more.

The concert to fundraise for those hit by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina — led by Combs, Church, Billy Strings and James Taylor, took place at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Oct. 26. The record-breaking event welcomed 82,193 attendees along with 7.1 million viewers on the Veeps livestream.

Concert For Carolina also featured performances from Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Bailey Zimmerman, The Avett Brothers, Scotty McCreery, Chase Rice, Parmalee and Wesko, with surprise appearances from Nicole Kidman and Randy Travis. It was hosted by ESPN’s Marty Smith and Barstool Sports’ Caleb Pressley.

Bidding in the auction is underway now and lasts through Nov. 11. Items with more than one bidder before 10 p.m. that day will remain open for bidding for 30 additional minutes. The timer resets to 30 minutes with each new bid until the timer expires with no new bids, and a winner is declared.

All proceeds from the auction, benefit show and livestream will go to the organizations selected by Combs and Church: Samaritan’s Purse, Manna Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, Eblen Charities and the organizations supported by Chief Cares.
