Rock Hill celebrating spring with Come-See-Me Festival. Here’s what’s in store.
Thousands of festival-goers are expected to descend on Rock Hill for the annual Come-See-Me Festival — a 10-day ode to spring.
Events kicked off Thursday with the annual parade.
Friday evening’s event is the popular Beach Bash, featuring the Marsha Morgan Band at the Old Town Amphitheater near city hall and the York County library from 5:30 to 10 p.m.
Join revelers as they shag dance and take in some festival fare. Beer tickets are $5 with an ID.
Saturday morning, festivities start early with the 5k and 10k road races starting at Winthrop Lake from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The Cornhole Throwdown begins at 10 a.m. The event features three tiers and includes cash prizes.
Also at 10 a.m. Saturday is the Healthy Kids Zone at the Velodrome in Riverwalk.
Kids can ride their bikes — or some that are provided — and eat healthy snacks.
Festival-goers can snack and drink their favorite beer at Gourmet Gardens and Hops at the Park, both from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Winthrop Lake. Glen and Glenda the frogs — the Come-See-Me mascots may make an appearance.
Saturday wraps up with Movie Night in Fountain Park where families can take in the movie Moana 2.
Sunday kicks off with the Disc Golf Open at the Winthrop University Disc Golf Course. Mother Goose and Glen the Frog will have story time and sundaes with the small kiddos at Glencairn Garden from 2 to 5 p.m.
Throughout the week, entertainers will perform daily at Glencairn Garden.
The Moonlight Jazz & Blues event starts Friday, April 11 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Bring a chair and a cooler.
The Mayor’s Frog Jump features fun amphibians hopping to the finish line next Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Tailgate Party & Fireworks will be from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday where thousands of people are expected. Both nights include barbecue sales.
