Get $1 movie tickets at Charlotte-area theaters this summer (+ snack deals)
Two big movie theater chains are offering heavily discounted tickets — and snacks — at Charlotte cinemas this summer.
AMC Theatres and Regal will each sell tickets for a lower-than-usual price, and Regal is also offering a deal on concessions.

How to get ticket discounts at AMC Theatres
AMC announced a new program for members of its free loyalty program, AMC Stubs.
Members can get 50% off the adult-evening base ticket price all day long on Wednesdays starting July 9. The program will be in place at all AMC locations, including in Charlotte, Concord, Shelby and Hickory.
“Realistically, we could not afford to have made this change to our ticket pricing strategy until the box office showed true signs of sustained recovery,” AMC chairman and CEO Adam Aron said in a press release. “But in April and now in May, the box office has been booming, and the remainder of 2025 appears poised to continue that upward box office trend.”
The half-off discount will be applied to standard formats along with IMAX, Dolby Cinema, Prime and RealID 3D, though additional charges may apply. Certain movies and holiday time periods may be excluded from the program, too.

How to get ticket discounts at Regal this summer
Regal is bringing back its Summer Movie Express program this summer.
The theater chain is selling $1 tickets for the first showing of select family-friendly films on Tuesdays and Wednesdays weekly from June 10 until Aug. 6.
This summer, families can get $1 tickets to see:

- “If”
- “Sonic the Hedgehog 2”
- “The Bad Guys”
- Sonic The Hedgehog 3”
- “The Wild Robot”

- “Despicable Me 4”
- “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem”

Cheap movie snacks
Regal is also selling a $5 snack pack, which includes a junior-sized drink, snack-sized popcorn and fruit snacks, for Summer Movie Express guests.
