Ed Sheeran is finally returning to Charlotte — to play the city’s biggest stage
It’s been awhile since Ed Sheeran last performed in Charlotte — eight years this month, to be exact.
We’ll have to wait another 13 months, but the pop singer is finally coming back next year, to headline the biggest stage in the Queen City: Bank of America Stadium, on Oct. 17, 2026, as part of the North American leg of his “Loop Tour.”
The maker of hits like “Shape of You” and “Perfect” was just 26 years old when his “÷ Tour” sold out Spectrum Center; that was now five albums ago.
The new dates follow the announcement from earlier this summer of the 2026 tour that kicks off in New Zealand and Australia in January. Sheeran’s first show in North America next year will be June 13 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, with Charlotte being the 18th of 21 cities he’ll play before that leg ends in early November.
Tickets will go on sale per the following schedule:
- Fans can register now at EdSheeran.com for early access to tickets, after which they’ll receive a one-time code that grants access to the artist presale beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23. (Registration is free, but does not guarantee tickets.)
- American Express is providing its cardmembers access to a presale that includes the Charlotte show, available via this link starting at noon Tuesday, Sept. 23, while supplies last.
- Tickets will go on sale to the general public starting at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, available through Ticketmaster.
According to Thursday’s announcement, the “Loop Tour” “promises an all-new set design with new songs from his recently released album, ‘Play’” — which came out just last week — “as well as fan favorites and some classics added in.”
In other major Charlotte concert news
Rapper Cardi B this week announced an April 12, 2026, concert at Spectrum Center as part of her first tour in six years — the “Little Miss Drama Tour,” which supports her second studio album, “Am I The Drama?” (due out this Friday).
Then Wednesday, she announced she’s expecting her fourth child, due before the tour starts in February.
In an interview with the “Today” show, Cardi B told Gayle King: “As soon as I give birth, tour rehearsal starts. I don’t come from weak women.”
Tickets go on sale next week. Info is here.
