Restaurants, businesses and events closed for Charlotte’s second snow of 2026

Here we go again. For the second weekend in a row, a winter storm is changing weekend plans across Charlotte.

Starting Friday through Sunday, the National Weather Service is calling for 2 to 7 inches of snow and extreme cold — a wind chill of 0 on Saturday. AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski told The Charlotte Observer that it could be the biggest snowstorm in decades.

Businesses, restaurants and groups planning events across the Charlotte area planning changes to their schedules ... again. Just last weekend, a weekend winter store with ice accumulation also led to closings and cancellations.

The Accidental Baker

Location: 4416 Monroe Rd d, Charlotte, NC 28205

Status: The Accidental Baker will be closed Saturday. Instead, the shop will open at 9 a.m. Friday (when it’s normally closed) for retail purchases of gluten-free baked goods until they’re sold out.

Status: The Prokofiev & Schumann concerts that were for Saturday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 1, at 3 p.m., are canceled.

Crisis Assistance Ministry

Location: 500 Spratt St, Ste A, Charlotte, North Carolina 28206

Status: Crisis Assistance Ministry is closed Saturday.

Daniel Stowe Conservancy

Location: 6500 S New Hope Rd, Belmont, NC 28012

Status: Daniel Stowe Conservancy is closed Saturday and Sunday.

Ed’s Tavern

Status: The Gem Theatre in Kannapolis is closed Saturday and Sunday.

Gibson Mill Market

Location: Bldg. 200, 305 McGill Ave NW, Concord, NC 28027

Status: “We know cabin fever is real,” stated Gibson Mill Market on Instagram. The market will remain closed on Monday, but the team promises it’ll be back open as soon as it’s safe.

Golden Cow Creamery

Location: 170 W Summit Ave, Charlotte, NC 28203

Location: 720 Gov Morrison St, Charlotte, NC 28211

Status: Golden Cow Creamery will be closed on Monday due to the road conditions around Charlotte.

Inner Peaks

Location: 10715 Independence Pointe Pkwy, Matthews, NC 28105

Location: 1837 N Tryon St ste. 101, Charlotte, NC 28206

Location: 2220 S Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28203

Status: All Inner Peaks locations are closed Saturday. The climbing gym updated its Instagram stories on Sunday to state it would remain closed Sunday as well.

‘The Magicians Table’

Location: Blume Studios, 904 Post St, Charlotte, NC 28208

Status: Blumenthal Arts has canceled the performances for Saturday, Jan. 31, and Sunday Feb. 1. Ticket holders will receive an email to select a new performance.

Makers Market

Location: Room Service at Camp North End, 701 Keswick Ave #105, Charlotte, NC 28206

Status: All Makers Market events are on pause until Feb. 11.

Mariposa

Location: 500 S Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28202

Status: Mariposa, the Mint Museum uptown restaurant, is closed Saturday and Sunday.

Neighborhood Theater’s The Ocean Blue show

Location: 511 E 36th St, Charlotte, NC 28205

Status: The Ocean Blue Frigid Winter Days Tour show at Neighborhood Theatre on Friday has been canceled due to, well ... Frigid Winter Days ahead, we guess!

NoDa Brewing’s Spring Clean Clothing Swap

Location: 150 W 32nd St, Charlotte, NC 28206

Status: NoDa Brewing Co.’s Spring Clean Clothing Swap has been postponed until April 11.

Poppy’s: A Taste of Maryland

Location: 647 NC-16 Bus, Denver, NC 28037

Status: Poppy’s: A Taste of Maryland is planning to be open from noon-5p.m. on Monday. “Please understand this is not a vacation for us (or any small business). This is detrimental, especially 2 weeks in a row, for small businesses to have to close,” Poppy’s owner posted on Sunday.

Orchestra Noir: The Culture 2000 Tour

Reid’s Fine Foods Oyster Roast

YMCA of Greater Charlotte

Location: Multiple

Status: All Charlotte-area YMCA locations are closed Saturday and Sunday. The Simmons YMCA and Harris Express YMCA will remain closed on Monday. These centers will be open from noon-6 p.m. on Monday: Brace, Childress Klein, Dowd, Harris, Johnston, Keith, Lake Norman (Fitness Center and Gymnasium only), Lowe’s (Fitness Center and Gymnasium only), McCrorey, Morrison, Sara’s, Stratford Richardson. All programming is canceled on Monday.
