Things to do

USA Today just named this NC ballpark one of the best in the nation. Here’s why

One of Charlotte’s most recognizable sports venues is getting national attention, and baseball fans say it’s among the best places in the country to catch a game.

Truist Field has been named one of the top minor league ballparks in the nation, earning the No. 9 spot on USA Today’s 2026 10Best Readers’ Choice list. The uptown stadium, which opened in 2014, is home to the Charlotte Knights and is known for its fan-friendly design and skyline views.

The annual list highlights standout venues across Minor League Baseball, with winners selected through a combination of expert nominations and public voting.

USA Today noted that fans can explore the Hall of Fame Rotunda at the stadium and learn about local baseball history.

“There’s also a wall dedicated to Eddie G.G. Burton, a Charlotte native who played in the Negro Leagues,” USA Today wrote.

The ballpark is home to one of the city’s biggest Independence Day traditions, drawing thousands each year for the annual SkyShow fireworks display following a Charlotte Knights game.

This ranking comes months after USA Today also named Dogwood Southern Table & Bar among its 10Best New Restaurants of the Year, CharlotteFive reported, highlighting the restaurant’s fresh take on Southern cuisine and its use of seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.
