It’s the time of year again when thousands of people will pack the streets of downtown for one of Raleigh’s biggest events of the year: Hopscotch Music Festival.

The 14th annual event takes place Sept. 5-7 with over 100 artists across multiple genres on two main stages and in some of the most popular local music venues.

“We are incredibly excited about the diversity and talent in this year’s lineup,” music festival director Nathan Price previously said in a press release.

“Hopscotch has always been about discovery and community, and we believe 2024 will be our best year yet with such a fantastic mix of artists.”

How much are tickets? Are there single day options?

Three day general admission and VIP passes are required for entry to the main stages and all club shows, which can be purchased online and picked up at the Wristband City box office located at 98 Market Plaza.

Here’s how GA and VIP experiences compare:

  • General admission ($159+): Access to three days of performances at both stages and late night shows at participating clubs.

  • VIP/Club Fast Pass ($349+): Access to three days of performances at both stages, VIP lounge, pre-show parties, swag bag and priority access to late night shows at participating clubs.

Single day passes, single venue passes, and single concert passes will not be available.

When will gates open? What time should I get to the festival?

The main stages for the festival will be at City Plaza (443 Fayetteville St.) and Moore Square (201 S. Blount St.) with gates opening at various times each day.

Parking, public transportation options for fans

There is not an official parking site for fans but there are multiple parking decks, parking lots and metered spaces around the downtown area. You can find a list of nearby decks and lots compiled by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance online at downtownraleigh.org/getting-around/parking.

If you’d rather skip the drive downtown, you can also take the R-LINE to get near the festival area.

With the GoRaleigh Live Map tool on goraleighlive.org/map, you can select “RLine - Downtown Circulator” to view routes and check out nearby stops.

Hopscotch day parties, Totscotch and Skate Raleigh pop-up

Organizers are bringing more fun to the festival this year with several other events for all ages.

All weekend long, there will be dozens of day parties at local bars, breweries and clubs with a mix of local and regional artists, including some before and after the main stage performances at Neptunes and The Pour House Music Hall & Record Shop Wednesday and Sunday nights.

This year, the festival is also turning downtown Raleigh into a skatepark with BMX, skateboard and a rollerblade competition for those that want to show off their skills for a cash prize.

Wrapping up festival weekend, organizers and the Marbles Kids Museum will be hosting Totscotch Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. The free family-friendly event will feature musical performances from Modern Biology, Baba McDaniel Roberts, The Loblollies, activities, food vendors and more.
