Barbecue restaurant announces expansion, new menu
While retaining its original concept of gourmet barbecue, The Improper Pig has announced both new menu items and its next expansion into Rea Farms. Its sister restaurant, Pizza Peel, will also be adding a new location at the new shopping center at 6010 Ardrey Kell Road.
The barbecue joint, which originated at 110 S. Sharon Amity Road in the Cotswold area in 2014, opened a second location in Fort Mill earlier this year.
To celebrate the opening of the Fort Mill spot, in a historic building at 204 Main Street, co-owner Will Bigham and the culinary team have introduced new menu items. On your next visit to Fort Mill, be ready to try wood-fired grilled New York strip steaks, prime pork chops and Southern hush puppies, just to name a few.
After renovating a historic building on Main Street, they tapped into a community that offered up a winning endorsement: the restaurant’s usually slow Mondays often have a waitlist at this spot.
Now, let’s get to the good stuff: the food
The team went directly to the hungry diners them when planning the menu for their Fort Mill location. “When we decided to open a second location, we used guest feedback to help rework our new menu items. Our Southern hush puppies is one new item that came from guest feedback, “ said Chris Soto, director of media and guest relations.
7 new menu items to try on your next visit:
(1) Big Red Mule cocktail
Belle Isle Ruby Red Grapefruit Moonshine mixed with fresh lime juice and Gosling Ginger Beer. This well-crafted cocktail is a blend of sparkling fruity flavors, making it hard to taste any alcohol.
