These big-name retailers are coming to Atherton Mill. Hint: Cava.

As the historic Atherton Mill undergoes a massive overhaul, several new businesses have signed leases at the South End development.

Property owner Edens, a Columbia-based developer, announced Tuesday that in addition to a 15,000-square-foot West Elm store that will anchor the development, the following retailers will open sometime in the summer of 2019:

▪ Cava, a Washington, D.C., Mediterranean chain restaurant.

▪ Indaco, a rustic Italian restaurant by Executive Chef Michael Holler.

▪ The Eagle Food & Beer Hall, a Cincinnati-based restaurant specializing in Southern dishes.

▪ Las Olas, a Charleston swimwear company.

▪ Paint Nail Bar, a luxury nail salon.

The new tenants are part of the 60,500 square feet of retail being developed. Edens is also partnering with Crescent Communities to add hundreds of high-end apartments on the site.

“Edens’ revitalization of Atherton has brought a resurgence to the South End by bringing a blend of retailers that resonate with the community — fulfilling a need to connect with this city’s history and each other,” said Lyle Darnall, Edens’ managing partner.

Edens, which also owns Park Road Shopping Center and Kenilworth Commons, bought Atherton Mill in 2006. The developer has added a number of retailers to Atherton in recent years, including Anthropologie, Free People, Alton Lane and Warby Parker, along with restaurants such as O-Ku and Luna’s Living Kitchen. The mill also includes a market that sells produce and prepared foods.
