Tesla is finally bringing a store to Charlotte. While the high-end electric sedan has many people excited, not everyone is blown away by the car company.
The Facts
– Sean Smith is a local car enthusiast who wants to build an electric sports car that he calls the Roseto GT.
– Why do this in Charlotte? Smith noted that NASCAR is here and BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Daimler have all invested in the region. The engineering talent is here.
– He hopes to stand apart from Tesla and Fisker by appealing to car enthusiasts who love fast cars, are intrigued by electric engines – but don’t want to spend $100K-plus.
