Rhino Market and Deli is opening a second location in uptown Charlotte.

The market just signed a lease for a 2,900 square-foot space at 400 S. Tryon, according to a statement Thursday from Trinity Capital Advisors, the site’s owners.

Construction on the new space begins in September, and is scheduled to wrap up in early spring next year.

Rhino will serve its breakfast menu and counter-service and quick-serve deli options, including soft drinks, snacks, craft beer, wine and coffee, the statement read.

Rhino’s space will have two nine-foot windows along Church Street that will open up like garage doors so diners can see the streetscape. There will be additional areas for seating, a bar and groceries.

The addition of Rhino is part of a major redevelopment of the corridor along Church Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard. Part of that project includes making the area more walkable by converting the concrete sidewalk to brick pavers.

Adam Williams with Legacy Real Estate Advisors represented the landlord on the deal, and Rodney Faulkner, also with Legacy, represented Rhino.

Rhino’s other location is at 1500 W. Morehead St.
