The new two-story Starbucks coming to SouthPark will serve craft beer and wine

A new Starbucks under construction at the Sharon Square mixed-use development in SouthPark will sell more than coffee – the shop will serve craft beer and wine as well.

The two-story location will also include a loft mezzanine, outdoor seating and a drive-thru lane meant to appeal to commuters. The 2,400 square-foot building, first announced in August 2015, is set for completion in early 2017.

“This Starbucks, in such a prominent and accessible location, will be a tremendous addition for all of the SouthPark area as well as Sharon Square,” said Brian Roth, vice president of marketing for Pappas Properties, in a statement. “We are thrilled that they plan to serve craft beers and wines in addition to their coffees and teas.”

Other Starbucks in Charlotte have started serving beer and wine as well, part of the “Starbucks Evenings” program the company debuted in North Carolina earlier this year at its East Boulevard location.

Sharon Square, at Sharon and Fairview roads, includes apartments, a Whole Foods, offices, shops and restaurants.
