Last night, Panthers QB1 Cam Newton introduced his new fragrance at Belk in SouthPark: Drakkar Essence. The crowd at Belk went crazy.
– Who better than the chiseled Cam-Man and his full-wattage smile to pitch a fragrance described as “woody … (with) spearmint, lavender, and sage … (and a) warm and vibrant base of dry woods, musk, and tonka bean?” Retail price: $48.
-Add another endorsement to the Newton’s extensive lineup, which includes Beats, Gatorade, Under Armour and Carolinas Healthcare. What makes this one different is the social media campaign Drakkar is using to reach Millenials.
– Women’s Wear Daily reports that, according to industry experts, sales estimates for the first year are approximately $9mil.

First, we don’t know a lot of dudes who wear cologne, but maybe we hang with the wrong types. Second, we love that Drakkar is a viking war ship. Of course. Viking + tonka beans + musk + perfumer Michel Girard = watch out ladies.
