Here’s what will replace the uptown Salsarita’s at Latta Arcade
Potbelly Sandwich Works will open its first Charlotte location uptown in the space formerly occupied by Salsarita’s, which recently closed.
The Chicago-based sandwich chain is targeting a November 2016 opening for its restaurant at 320 S. Tryon, in the Latta Arcade, a spokeswoman said.
The chain offers toasted sub sandwiches, fresh-made salads, breakfast sandwiches, milkshakes, smoothies, soups and cookies.

Rick Fossali, Potbelly’s senior director of domestic franchising, last year told the Observer the company has been eyeing new markets and eventually wants to open four restaurants in Charlotte.
Potbelly also wants to expand into Raleigh/Durham, Fayetteville, Winston-Salem, Cary and Wilmington, Fossali said. It has one store in Greensboro.
