Our eEdition has changed. Here’s what you need to know.

The Charlotte Observer eEdition
The Charlotte Observer eEdition

The eEdition is a digital replica of our daily printed newspaper that offers over 40 pages of bonus, subscriber-only content.

We’ve made key improvements based on reader feedback — including fewer ads and a more user-friendly navigation — to make the eEdition experience even better.

What has changed?

Our eEdition improvements include:

Fewer ads

Fewer icons and navigation lists

No red highlighting. Readers told us this made reading very difficult.

Easier to open an individual article. (If you click once on an article, a plain text view opens. You can adjust the text size, print and share the article from there. Want to zoom into an article instead? Double click or use the magnifying glass.)

The new eEdition works best in updated versions of these browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. If you use Internet Explorer, you will need to upgrade to Edge or use another browser. Download Edge here.

Do I need to change my bookmark or saved link?

Yes! If you have a link that starts with “” it will no longer work.

Instead, bookmark the new link on your desktop by visiting On your mobile device, simply click the newspaper icon at the top of the screen.

If you are a mobile user, the eEdition is in our app now. Download our apps for iOS or Google Play today.
