Chicago’s Hyde Park Summerfest announced its 2023 lineup, and hip hop fans and aficionados are in for a treat. Rap duo Clipse, composed of brothers Pusha T and No Malice, is slated to headline the festival.

The two released their first album, “Exclusive Audio Footage,” in 1999 and found commercial success in 2002 with their hit single “Grindin.’” The duo released their last album in 2009 and have been on hiatus since for a decade.

Fans were first teased with a reunion back in 2020 when the pair were supposed to perform at Pharrell’s Something in the Water festival that year. Due to the onset of COVID and subsequent stay-at-home order, the festival was called off. The brothers eventually made their way to the festival in 2022 and shared the stage a few more times that year during the BET Hip Hop Awards and ComplexCon. Summerfest, however, will be Clipse’s first headlining set since their hiatus.

In addition to the Virginia Beach rap duo, rapper 2 Chainz has also been announced as a headliner. There will also be performances from Tobe Nwigwe, Robert Glasper and Uncle Waffles. The festival, which takes place June 17-18, will also be celebrating 50 years of hip hop with performances from Chicago artists including Vic Mensa, Twista and Shawnna. More acts are set to be announced at a later date.

The recent resurgence of the duo may have fans wondering about the potential of another Clipse record in the future. Earlier this year, Pusha T told Complex that he’s “pressing” for a new Clipse project. Until then, fans can get their fix in Chicago. Tickets are available for purchase here.
