New experiences at Downtown Disney District offer the perfect foodie experience
Disneyland is more than Mickey ears and roller coasters. It’s becoming a foodie paradise.
The Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort is undergoing a complete transformation that visitors will love. With the addition of new restaurants and renovations of old favorites, Disneyland Resort is preparing for every taste bud the park will see this summer.
Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio and Beignets Expressed
Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen has been a Downtown Disney District favorite for over two decades. With the warm hospitality of the French Quarter, the restaurant was known for its bold flavors and famous hot beignets! Disneyland Resort has evolved the park staple to Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio. Disney Parks announced the reimaging of Ralph Brennan’s included taking the rich tradition of the iconic restaurant, giving it a fresh new look, new name and new menu.
The announcement previewed some tasty bites on the restaurant’s all-day menu.
Long-time fan favorites are featured alongside new selections such as Lobster & Crawfish Sliders, Chile-Spiced Honey Glazed Grilled Salmon, Gumbo LA-LA filled with succulent seafood, the Grilled Open Faced Lobster BLT Po-Boy and the Reef & Beef, a delectable entrée of grilled shrimp and braised short ribs. The new menu additions pair perfectly with a newly expanded wine list from California vintners and seasonal cocktails.
You can top off a great dinner at Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio with something sweet right next door! Beignets Expressed is a fast, friendly, and fun counter-service spot, serving up the much-loved New Orleans confection. The menu includes glazed beignets, dipped, drizzled, and sprinkled in infinitely delicious flavors. However, the top way to enjoy the fried, fluffy treat is the traditional way, under heaping mounds of powdered sugar.
Clyde’s Hot Chicken
Stop by the new cart located in the district near the Disneyland Monorail and grab a piping hot piece of Clyde’s Hot Chicken. The delicious chicken on a stick is the park’s take on the famous Nashville hot chicken.
Made handmade and fresh, Clyde’s is available in three different heat level seasonings. Clyde’s has something for everyone, for the park goers that want something with a slight kick to the daredevils. The hottest choice is the Hot as Cali with cayenne and habanero spices!
The Alley
The courtyard next to Splitsville Luxury Lanes is being transformed into The Alley. This fun space will include interactive games, live music, lounge areas and seats for dining. Visitors can gather here and enjoy their food and drinks and reflect on the great time they are having at Disneyland.
Downtown Disney District is continuing with renovations and additions throughout the summer. The dining, shopping and entertainment experiences will take visitors on an exciting adventure through Disney’s favorite stories and places. Future plans for the district also include the addition of Din Tai Fung, a world-renowned Chinese restaurant known for its soup dumplings and noodles, plus masterful Mexican cuisine by Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán at Paseo and Céntrico, and the oh-so-yummy California-Cuban cheese rolls and pastries from Porto’s Bakery and Cafe.
