But with so many options, figuring out where to dine while maintaining the perfect ambiance can be overwhelming, no matter the budget. Here’s some of the best food and vibes NYC has to offer this year — without always breaking the bank.

For those in search of plant-based soul food, look no further — Seasoned Vegan Real Quick is a must. Black-owned and located in New York City’s East Village, this shop offers vegan takes on classic soul food dishes. Make sure you get into the Craw Pretzel Boy, a vegan crawfish po’ boy on a pretzel bun, or the Harlem Chopped “Cheese” Burger made with high-protein oat meat and vegan cheddar. Get a taste of culture and cocktails while dining in style at Mesiba. Located inside the Moxy Hotel in Williamsburg, the Levantine-inspired eatery gives the energy of Tel-Aviv with the cool aesthetic of your favorite Brooklyn cocktail lounge. Parts of the menu include tapas-sized items and one of the main course highlights is the Lamb Neck, served tender and rich and filled with vibrant flavor in every bite. Pair it with their specialty cocktail Shoshana, a sweet coconut mixture with Hennessy and Mt. Gay Rum. The Flatiron Room has a sexy inviting atmosphere filled with vintage decor and live jazz performances every night. The menu was designed by Michelin-Star Chef Jiho Kim who takes a creative approach to classics such as the NY Strip Steak and his “Thrilla In Manilla,” a pleasant linguine dish with manila clams and mussels. As for cocktails, you can’t go wrong with any of the signature sips. Their Manhattan, however, could be the best in New York City.
