Festa Italiana Charlotte

1-7 p.m. In the courtyards of Queens University of Charlotte (parking will be marked off Selwyn Avenue). $75 ($25 for ages 13-20). www.festaitalianacharlotte.org.

Admission includes unlimited Italian food, wines, prosecco, Peroni beer, live entertainment and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit Nevins, which provides care to developmentally disabled adults in Mecklenburg County.

Charlotte Knights

2:05 p.m. BB&T Ballpark, 324 S. Mint St. $8-$50. www.charlotteknights.com.

The team will showcase the rich tradition of the Negro Leagues and welcome five former players, Negro League historians and a historical display featuring photos and artifacts. The Knights play the Syracuse Chiefs.
