Surprise! Dave Chappelle books two shows in NC and one in SC — for next week

Comedian Dave Chappelle surprised his fans in the Carolinas on Tuesday afternoon with the announcement of three performances in the Carolinas — all next week.

The shows will be at the Durham Performing Arts Center in Durham on Monday, Oct. 21; at North Charleston Performing Arts Center in North Charleston on Tuesday, Oct. 22; and at Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Tickets for each of the shows will be available beginning at noon Wednesday via ticketmaster.com.

Chappelle, the 51-year-old 2019 winner of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, last performed in North Carolina almost exactly a year ago, when he did stand-up performances in Raleigh and in Charlotte.

As has been the case with his shows for years now, cellphone use will be strictly prohibited.
