"The 3rd Hour of TODAY is headed to Williamsburg, Virginia, to help celebrate America's 250th birthday!" Todayannounced on its official Instagram account, after announcing the news during its broadcast. "Our anchors are looking forward to fifes, drums, and lots of delicious pancakes with special co-host Patton Oswalt 🥞."

"What better place to do it than in the heart of the American Revolution?" Dylan Dreyer said of the U.S. turning 250 years old in 2026.

"Trust us, this is not gonna be your average school field trip," Al Roker added. "We are going to walk the same streets as the founders. We're gonna visit amazing restaurants, local breweries, and, as everybody must do to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country, eat pancakes."

After pointing out that Williamsburg is the Pancake Capital of the World, Dreyer revealed that the third hour will bring in "some serious star power" with Oswald as a guest co-host.

"Many times mistaken for Craig Melvin," Roker joked of the actor and comedian.
