Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Worldwide Reveal Showcase Set for April 23

Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will get its worldwide reveal showcase on April 23, 2026. After months of leaks, PEGI ratings, media previews, and carefully worded non-denials, the worst-kept secret in gaming is finally getting its proper moment in the spotlight.

The Long Road to This Moment

The existence of Black Flag Resynced has been an open secret for the better part of a year. The PEGI ratings board listed the title in December 2025, confirming both its name and its 18+ rating. Voice actor Matt Ryan, who plays Edward Kenway, inadvertently teased the project at a convention before Ubisoft took legal action to contain the leak. On April 16, Insider Gaming reported that media and content creators had already seen roughly 30 minutes of the game in a private preview - and that it had been "completely reworked" with new content and, by that outlet's account, looks genuinely impressive. The official reveal was originally planned for April 16, then pushed to this week.

What We Know So Far

Ubisoft has been explicit about one thing ahead of the showcase: Black Flag Resynced is not an RPG. The original 2013 game was a solo, narrative-driven action-stealth experience set during the Golden Age of Piracy, following privateer Edward Kenway as he became entangled in the war between the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order. Resynced respects the source material in this regard.

"This remains a solo adventure and character-driven experience. It is not an RPG," the April 16 press material stated clearly, a direct response to community concern that the game might be retooled in the direction of Origins, Odyssey, or Valhalla. According to Insider Gaming, a July 9, 2026, release date has also been reported, though Ubisoft has not officially confirmed this ahead of the showcase.

The showcase itself will run on Wednesday, April 23 at 4PM UTC / 6PM CEST / 9AM PDT. Set your reminders - after this long a wait, Edward Kenway deserves a proper send-off into the modern era.
