Watch: Sam Reid performs Billy Idol in 'The Vampire Lestat'
April 22 (UPI) -- AMC is gearing up for the release of Anne Rice's The Vampire Lestat.
The network shared a trailer for the series Wednesday featuring Sam Reid as the titular bloodsucker.
The Vampire Lestat is inspired by the Anne Rice novel and is part of AMC's Immortal Universe based on Rice's works.
The new show continues the story of Interview with the Vampire and serves as a Season 3 for that series, which starred Jacob Anderson as the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac.
Switching focus from Louis to Lestat, Lestat follows the title character as he becomes "the world's first immortal rock star on an electric multi-city tour, while he's haunted by 'muses' from his rebellious past," according to a press release.
The trailer shows Reid performing the Billy Idol hit "Dancing with Myself."
Other returning cast members from Interview include Anderson as Louis, Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy, Assad Zaman as Armand and Delainey Hayles as Claudia.
The Vampire Lestat premieres June 7 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC and AMC+.
