'70s Rock Band's Show Cancelled Amid ‘Severe Thunderstorms'

ZZ Top's highly anticipated show with Dwight Yoakam has left fans disappointed following the major changes regarding the upcoming show.

The '70s music icon has an ongoing headlining show with the country superstar for their Dos Amigos Tour.

The series of shows, which kicked off in late April and covers cities like Arizona, Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and Kansas, is expected to conclude its 15-day run by this month.

However, due to unforeseen incidents such as severe thunderstorms, the duo's scheduled concert in Lynchburg, Virginia on May 21 has been cancelled.

Amid the warnings brought by the intense thunderstorms in the area, the organizers are prioritizing the safety of the "fans, artists, crews and staff."

"We deeply regret the disappointment this causes for fans who were looking forward to this incredible night of music and appreciate everyone's understanding and support. We also thank ZZ Top, Dwight Yoakam and their teams for their partnership and cooperation throughout this process," as stated in a statement released by Mason Lane Entertainment.

As for the guests, the Lynchburg Amphitheater confirmed that tickets will be fully refunded to the original method of payment within 5 to 10 business days.

As mentioned, ZZ Top and the Grammy-winning singer were set for a one-day run in North Charleston, South Carolina at North Charleston Coliseum, followed by another performance at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, North Carolina on May 22.

Meanwhile, the May 23 show, which will be their last performance for the tour, is set at Marshall Health Network Arena in Huntington, West Virginia.
