Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.: It’s ImaginOn’s 10th anniversary, and on the second Saturday of every month through May, families are invited to celebrate the collaboration between Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and Children’s Theatre of Charlotte. This month’s theme is “Storytelling,” and includes drama classes, readings by Young Playwrights for Change, and a chance to share your own story.
Cookies and Crafts

Saturday, 3 p.m.: An afternoon dedicated to ”two of the best inventions ever:” cookies and beer. Enjoy local craft beer samples from more than 10 breweries paired with several types of Girl Scout Cookies. Cost $20, www.universe.com.
Hog Butchering Day
Historic Brattonsville, 1444 Brattonsville Road, McConnells, S.C.
Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.: Historically dressed interpreters explain why early settlers valued the hog for food and utilitarian byproducts. Sunday, 2 p.m.: The troupe Shabatuso does a narrative ballet from the Republic of Guinea in West Africa about marriage and jealousy, incorporating the musical forms kuku, balan and kora. For ages 6 and older, cost $12 - $20. ctcharlotte.org
‘Amhal and the Night Visitors’
