Chef Laurent Tourondel, Bon Appetit magazine's Restaurateur of the Year in 2007, will supervise a BLT Steak (the first in North Carolina) in the 147-room hotel, slated to open in 2009.
Look for prime cuts of beef, seafood, sides and “classic American dessert favorites.”
He opened a BLT Steak in New York in 2004, and others are scheduled for Miami, Scottsdale and Atlanta.
GW Fins, Oceanaire, Ruth's Chris deals
The Oceanaire (4620 Piedmont Row Drive) offers a four-course fixed-price meal from 5 to 7 p.m. daily for $29.95 plus tax and tip: New England clam chowder, Caesar salad, Chesapeake Bay-style jumbo lump crabcakes with mustard mayonnaise and warm chocolate ganache cake with vanilla bean ice cream.
Also, following Charlotte Restaurant Week ($30 meal deals at many restaurants the week of July 12-18; see www.charlotterestaurantweek.com), Oceanaire will extend its $30 offer for an additional week, through July 25. 704-554-8811.
GW Fins (525 N. Tryon St.) offers a special two-course menu, with nonalcoholic beverage, for $25 from 5-6:30 p.m. weekdays.
Ruth's Chris (both SouthPark and uptown locations) offers a three-course dinner for two for $89 plus tax and tip through the summer.
New hours for 131 Main, Il Posto
131 Main now has Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at all three of its locations: Dilworth, Ballantyne and Lake Norman. Among menu items are brioche French toast, oven-baked frittata and twists on traditional eggs Benedict.
Il Posto at Phillips Place is now open for lunch weekdays.

New menu options abound:
At Las Ramblas (2400 Park Road): Habeas Alla Catalana – a broad bean salad with lomo (cured meat), butifarra (spiced pork sausage) and fresh mint with tomato-rubbed bread; Salmorejo – cold tomato and garlic soup with grated egg and Serrano ham; artichoke cakes with fresh ricotta; seared ahi tuna; braised pork cheeks; and more. Also new: half-price bottles of wine each Wednesday night. The restaurant will be open July 4.
At Cosmos Café (300 N. College St.): Whole artichoke roasted and stuffed with rock shrimp; penne pasta in light cherry tomato cream sauce with Italian sausage and green peas; roasted whole red snapper with herb and spice infused olive oil over couscous; gnocchi with shellfish; flank steak salad; berry cobbler; and more. Also, a new lunch item: pain Nicoise, seared tuna with tapenade, boiled eggs, tomatoes and red pepper on ciabatta bread with fries.
Chipotle Mexican Grill (multiple locations) has a special burrito – “Le Burrito” – promoting American cycling team Slipstream-Chipotle, which will compete in the Tour de France July 5-27. It's filled with meat from chickens raised humanely (vegetarian, no antibiotics, etc., says the company), black beans, cilantro lime rice, tomato salsa and guacamole, and will be offered through the end of the Tour.
