Which high school musical kids/shows got Blumey nominations?
Seventy-two nominees were announced today for the fifth annual Blumey Awards, the Charlotte area’s high school musical theater awards, run by the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. Winners will be announced at an event May 22 in Belk Theater.
The students named best actor and best actress will move on to a national competition in New York City known as The Jimmy Awards (named after famed Broadway producer, James M. Nederlander).
Fans may remember the 2013 Blumey winner, Eva Noblezada, who went on to win the national Jimmy Award, then to international musical stardom in London’s West End in “Miss Saigon.”
