It’s Snakes

Friday 5-9 p.m. Camp North End, 1824 Statesville Ave. Free. www.facebook.com/campnorthend.

The latest combo from Hope Nicholls and husband Aaron Pitkin — fixtures here since the ’80s (Fetchin’ Bones, Sugarsmack, Snagglepuss) — opens a new season of Friday Nights at Camp North End with the release of its second album. Food trucks, local craft beer and more music with the Mike Strauss Band round out the family-friendly fun.

Guided By Voices

Saturday 8:30 p.m. The Underground, 1000 NC Music Factory Blvd. $25. www.livenation.com.

Dayton, Ohio’s prolific lo-fi, indie-rock pioneer presents a rare Queen City “evening with” concert on the heels of the band’s 26th album, “Space Gun,” which was released in March. Founder Robert Pollard has surpassed the 100-album mark through his various projects, and the latest lineup of the band includes second-generation singer-songwriter Bobby Bare Jr.

Charlie Wilson

Sunday 8 p.m. Bojangles’ Coliseum, 2700 E. Independence Blvd. $57-$102. www.ticketmaster.com.

The 65-year-old former Gap Band frontman makes planning for Mother’s Day a little easier. The veteran soul singer battled homelessness, addiction and more recently prostate cancer, but staged a comeback a decade ago thanks in part to a heavily sampled back catalog and support from a collab-happy hip-hop community.

Margo Price

Tuesday 8 p.m. Neighborhood Theatre, 511 E. 36th St. $20-$22. www.neighborhoodtheatre.com.

The classic country revivalist-turned-alt-country darling is coming off a two-year career swell (similar to former band mate Sturgill Simpson) with last year’s “All American Made” — her second for Jack White’s Third Man label. With a voice akin to fellow indie singer Elizabeth Cook, she’s part of a stellar group of female singer-songwriters coming out of Nashville now.

James Taylor & His All Star Band

Wednesday 7:30 p.m. Spectrum Center, 333 E. Trade St. $68.50-$103. www.ticketmaster.com.

The former Carolinian and his All-Star Band will stretch its set with a career-spanning “evening with” format, hitting on his string of hits, deeper cuts and favorite covers. Bonnie Raitt recently had to back out of the Charlotte show and several other dates due to medical reasons; she’ll join up with Taylor in late June.

Post Malone/21 Savage

Wednesday 8 p.m. PNC Music Pavilion, 707 Pavilion Blvd. $98-$153.50. www.livenation.com.

Hot on the heels of the release of Post Malone’s long-awaited and highly anticipated sophomore album, “Beerbongs and Bentleys,” he and “Rockstar” collaborator 21 Savage reunite on the road. With the former’s “B&B” breaking Spotify streaming records and going platinum in less than a week, the pairing should be one of the hottest of the summer.

BabyMetal

Thursday 8 p.m. The Fillmore, 1000 NC Music Factory Blvd. $28.50. www.livenation.com.

Theatrical metalcore meets sugary pop and Harajuku-nurtured anime characters come to life, although the trio of Japanese 18- to 20-year-old women is proving they’ve grown up a bit in the band’s stylized new dark fantasy video for “Distortion” — which hints that they’re perhaps becoming less babyish and more metal than ever.
