Ozzy Osbourne’s 2020 North American tour — which was to include June 2 concert at Charlotte’s PNC Music Pavilion — has been canceled due to the 71-year-old heavy-metal rocker’s ongoing health problems, promoter Live Nation announced in a Tuesday-morning press release.

The show would have marked Osbourne’s first in Charlotte since August 2007, when he brought his “Ozzfest” tour to the former Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.

In its release, Live Nation said that “No More Tours 2” was canceled “to allow Osbourne to continue to recover from various health issues he has faced over the past year. This decision was made to accommodate fans who’ve been holding tickets for rescheduled shows and have been asked to change plans, some multiple times. Following promotional obligations for his new ‘Ordinary Man’ album (out Feb. 21), Osbourne will head to Europe for additional treatments.”

The announcement comes about a month after he revealed his Parkinson’s diagnosis in a “Good Morning America” interview. Last spring, Osbourne fell and injured himself at home in L.A. while battling pneumonia, and as a result he had to postpone all of his 2019 tour dates (including a June 4, 2019 gig at PNC).

“No More Tours 2” was scheduled to kick off in Atlanta on May 27.

“I’m so thankful that everyone has been patient because I’ve had a s--- year,” Osbourne said in a statement. “Unfortunately, I won’t be able to get to Switzerland for treatment until April and the treatment takes six-eight weeks.

“I don’t want to start a tour and then cancel shows at the last minute, as it’s just not fair to the fans,” he continued. “I’d rather they get a refund now and when I do the North American tour down the road, everyone who bought a ticket for these shows will be the first ones in line to purchase tickets at that time.”

Refunds will be available at the original point of purchase. Tickets purchased online, via the Live Nation or Ticketmaster apps, or by phone will be automatically refunded. All refunds, including fees, will be returned directly to the credit card used.
