In April, Charlotte art, food and entertainment hub CLTure co-sponsored Under One Roof — an online music benefit for N.C. musicians featuring sets by some of the state’s biggest musical exports, including Anthony Hamilton, Ben Folds and Fantasia.

With no end in sight for shuttered music venues and art spaces a week into Phase 1 of the state’s reopening, CLTure returns with a more localized digital fundraiser: Porch Vibes Spring Fest.

Hosted by Charlotte historian Tom Hanchett and Power 98’s Ya Girl Nikki, the three-day online festival features live music, food-and-beverage demos, art and short films. The event will air from 7 to 9 nightly May 22-24 (Friday-Sunday) on YouTube and Facebook.

Musical performances include the Hamiltones, saxophonist Adrian Crutchfield (Prince, Lionel Richie), Emily Sage, Modern Moxie, Josh Daniel, Harvey Cummings Project, Cyanca, Erick Lottary, Chad Lawson, Dirty Art Club, Quentin Talley, the Wilt, Greg Cox, Jason and Maya Beth Atkins, and others. Grammy-nominated N.C. rapper Petey Pablo — who popped up on Under One Roof — returns to share more recipes from his kitchen.

On the culinary side, star mixologist Bob Peters hosts a craft-cocktail segment, food writer Heidi Billotto leads a tour of local farmer’s markets and vegan chef Julia Simon of Nourish will give a plant-based cooking demonstration. 100 Gardens will also share tips about quarantine’s hottest new hobby.

Art Pop, Charlotte Symphony, Baran Dance, Abari Game Bar, filmmaker Ben Premeaux, Lunchbox Records, Save Point Video Games, visual artists John Hairston Jr. and Rosalia Torres-Weiner, and others will also lead segments.

Proceeds will benefit Charlotte artists, with the majority going to the performing artists. Fundraising kicked off with a donation of $2,500 from Tito’s Handmade Vodka to Frontline Foods Charlotte.
