‘Alien Superstar’ singer Beyoncé is bringing her new tour to Charlotte. What we know
Superstar singer Beyoncé is coming to Charlotte this summer as part of her new world tour that was announced Wednesday.
It’s been a decade since the singer last appeared here.
She will be coming to Bank of America Stadium on Aug. 9, her only date in the Carolinas for her Renaissance tour.
Renaissance is also the name of her album that dropped last summer. It’s her seventh album, and Rolling Stone said its “quaint grandeur feels stunningly cutting edge.”
Ticket info for Beyoncé concert
Tickets will be sold by LiveNation through a verified fan system “to help filter out buyers looking to resell tickets and create a less crowded ticket shopping experience for fans,” LiveNation said.
Ticket buyers must register for a chance to purchase tickets through Verified Fan Registration, which is open now through Feb. 16 at 11:59 p.m. for Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium tickets. BeyHive members — those who are in the Beyoncé fan club — can register for the BeyHive Presale, while Citi Cardmembers can register for the Citi Presale. There is also just a Verified Fan Registration option for ticket buyers who are not fan club or Citi Cardmembers.
BeyHive presale tickets for Charlotte will begin on Monday, Feb. 20.
Citi presale for Charlotte tickets will begin Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 10 a.m.
General public tickets through the Verified Fan Registration will go on sale Feb. 25.
Fans can register for multiple Verified Fan Registration groups.
According to LiveNation/Ticketmaster, registration places your request into “a lottery-style process to determine which registered Verified Fans get an access code and which fans are placed on the waitlist. Access to tickets is not guaranteed. If you’re selected, you’ll receive a unique access code and link to the sale via text message. If you aren’t selected, you’ll be automatically placed on a waitlist and may be invited to join the sale if tickets remain.”
Additionally, Verizon Up customers can access a special presale for select shows by visiting Verizon Up. Further information on those tickets was not immediately available Wednesday.
Beyoncé tour details
The tour starts in Stockholm on May 10, then makes its way through Europe in such cities as Paris, London and Amsterdam.
Beyoncé will then be in Toronto for two shows in early July before kicking off the U.S. leg of the tour on July 12 in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field.
This will be Beyoncé’s fourth concert in Charlotte. Queen Bey last appeared here in July 2013 at what was then called the Time Warner Cable Arena. Other shows were in 2007 and 2004.
Her upcoming concert will mark Beyoncé’s first stadium show in Charlotte.
Beyoncé also came to Raleigh’s Carter-Finley Stadium in 2016.
