What to Watch on Thursday: Archie and Jughead go dark in ‘Riverdale’
Riverdale (9 p.m., The CW) – In the premiere of this new series based on the “Archie” comics (but a way darker version), the town of Riverdale reels from the tragic death of Jason Blossom, a high school student. Meanwhile, new student Veronica Lodge arrives in town, and Cheryl Blossom stirs up trouble among the others while keeping a few secrets of her own. The series also lands on Netflix Friday.
Scandal (9 p.m., ABC) – In the Season 6 premiere, the shocking results of the presidential race between Mellie Grant and Francisco Vargas set off an explosive outcome.
Pure Genius (10 p.m., CBS) – In the series finale, Angie tries to target her mother’s illness using radical technology.
Baskets (10 p.m., FX) – Chip gets the chance to pee in the cowboy toilet.
