Sinatra: All or Nothing at All (8 p.m., HBO) – In part 1 of this documentary about singer Frank Sinatra, Sinatra becomes a superstar, faces a mid-career decline and has an epic comeback that includes an Oscar win.
A.D. The Bible Continues (9 p.m., NBC) – A new dramatic series (a continuation of “The Bible” series) that chronicles the decades following the resurrection of Jesus. The first episode covers Jesus (Juan Pablo di Pace) dying on the cross, the guarding of Jesus’ tomb, and a warrior angel rolling the stone away from the tomb.
Shameless (9 p.m., Showtime) – In the Season 5 finale, Fiona’s reunion with Gus is tempered by her feelings of love for Sean. And Frank attempts to keep Bianca happy in Costa Rica.
River Monsters (9 p.m., Animal Planet) – Season 7 has biologist and extreme angler Jeremy Wade exploring new lairs of various aquatic beasts. In the season’s first episode, Wade investigates tales of a 20-foot serpent in the waters of Ontario.
American Odyssey (10 p.m., NBC) – In this new government conspiracy drama, Sgt. Odelle Ballard obtains files that prove a major U.S. corporation is secretly funding terrorists, while litigator Pete Decker uncovers corruption in the private sphere and activist Harrison Walters suspects a government coverup.
Wolf Hall (10 p.m., UNC-TV) – From “Masterpiece,” a new historical drama that tells the stories of Thomas Cromwell (Mark Rylance), King Henry VIII (Damian Lewis) and Anne Boleyn (Claire Foy).
Lizzie Borden Chronicles (10 p.m., Lifetime) – Christina Ricci reprises her role from the Lifetime movie “Lizzie Borden Took An Ax” for this new limited series, which gives a fictionalized account of events surrounding Lizzie after her acquittal for the murder of her parents. Among Ricci’s co-stars is Jonathan Banks (”Breaking Bad,” “Better Call Saul”), who plays an underworld kingpin who becomes Lizzie’s business partner.
Salem (10 p.m., WGN) – The second of WGN’s first original scripted series opens at the dawn of a Witch War. Ruthless witch Mary has unleashed a devastating plague on the town’s citizens and then has to face adversaries who want to usurp her power. Lucy Lawless joins the cast this season.
The Raft (10 p.m., National Geographic Channel) – A new “social experiment” series that puts two sets of strangers adrift on life rafts to endure the elements in a grueling test of survival.
